Long before a single piece of jewelry bore the Sélia name, our family were traders. Not of finished jewelry, but of the very heart of it: diamonds and precious gemstones sourced from the world's finest deposits and traded through Antwerp's legendary Diamantkwartier.
Antwerp handles more than 80% of the world's rough diamonds. To grow up in this trade is to develop a vocabulary for quality that cannot be taught in any classroom. It is passed down across a dinner table, learned in sorting rooms at dawn, earned through decades of handling stones that most people will never see in a lifetime.
This intimate knowledge of raw materials, their inclusions, their crystalline structure, and the way light moves inside them became the flawless foundation upon which Sélia was built. We don't select stones from a catalogue. We know them.
